A rod aligner takes up small misalignment between the cylinder rod and the load it's pushing, so the rod isn't side-loaded and the seals don't wear prematurely. The Janatics AR range covers seven item codes for fitting between the rod end and a guided or fixed load. Maintenance teams and machine builders add one when a cylinder is driving something that can't be perfectly co-axial, sparing the rod bearing and gland from uneven load. Sizing it to the rod thread is what makes the floating connection work.
