Short strokes in a compact body define the SDVU — bores from 16 to 80 mm paired with strokes of just 10 to 80 mm, 240 models in all. It's a double-acting cylinder with a magnetic piston for position sensing, and the short-stroke geometry is exactly what stamping, pressing, pin-locating and clamping fixtures call for when the part only has to move a few millimetres. Because both the barrel and stroke are kept short, it packs into dies and tooling plates where a full-length cylinder simply won't fit.
